New Alzheimer's Vaccine Programme
A New Alzheimer's Vaccine trial is underway at Glasgow Memory Clinic.
Glasgow Memory Clinic is the only reserch centre in Scotland with expertise in the field of Alzheimer's Vaccine research. The first patients entered a vaccine trial in 2007 and the work is ongoing. The research team attended the ICAD (International Conference of Alzheimer's Disease) 2011 Paris and the clinic Director Dr Fraser Inglis gave a presentation to an international audience of investigators as the lead global centre for a large international phase three Alzheimer's vaccine trial that is ongoing.
'We have worked very hard to make this contribution to international Alzheimer's research and we are very proud to work with so many committed colleagues, patients and carers on this very important programme' said Dr Inglis the Clinic Director.
Individuals over the age of 50 who are concerned about a decline in memory function may be eligible to participate in the new vaccine trial that is now running at the clinic. Individuals interested in finding out more can contact the centre.
